Made by One Pair of Hands

Every keepsake that leaves this workroom is cut, gathered, and strung by hand — made after you order, for your wedding alone.

The Atelier

From a Clay-Flower Shop to Your Wedding Day

Ivory & Bloom Atelier grew out of a small handmade clay-flower shop at Potomac Mills Mall — a place to bring decades of professional design experience into something you could actually hold. Every pouch, crown, and flower girl set that leaves this workroom passes through my hands, start to finish.

I believe your wedding accessories should feel considered, not generic. That's why every order is made after you purchase, in the colors and quantities your day actually calls for — not pulled off a shelf.

Thirteen years and hundreds of weddings later, the promise hasn't changed: one maker, one piece at a time, finished well enough to become tomorrow's heirloom.

The Process

Four Steps, No Shortcuts

The making of a signature pouch, from a single square of satin to a hand-strung pearl handle.

01

The Cut

Satin is unforgiving — it shows every crease and shifts under the scissors if you rush it. Each piece is cut on the grain from a single length, so the sheen runs in one continuous direction and catches light in smooth bands.

02

The Gather

The signature ruffle isn't sewn on; it is the bag. A drawstring channel is stitched around the full circumference, then gathered by hand until the folds sit evenly — the single fussiest step, and the one no machine does well.

03

The Handle

Each handle is strung pearl by pearl on doubled, waxed cord, knotted internally so the pearls hold even if a strand were ever cut. Jewelry construction, applied to something a flower girl will absolutely swing in circles.

04

The Finish

Ribbon ties are heat-sealed and hand-tacked, seams enclosed so there's no raw edge anywhere your fingers can find. Every piece is photographed in natural light and checked against your order's color reference before it's wrapped.

The Wait Is Part of What Makes It Yours

Nothing here sits on a shelf. Your pieces are cut after you order — in your shade, sometimes in a custom color matched to a photo of your bridesmaids' dresses. It takes about two weeks, and every day of it goes into your keepsake alone.

Because "dusty rose" has to mean the same thing in your hands as it did on your screen, every finished piece is checked against your order's color reference in natural light before it's wrapped.
